Kells wins prestigious legal IT Award
Kells The Lawyers has won the prestigious 2008 LawTech Best Practice in Knowledge Management Award.
Kells beat other leading law firms to win the award, which recognises outstanding achievement in the process of collating, organising, sharing and analysing a knowledge database.
The LawTech Awards are part of the annual LawTech Summit and are peer-judged, with this year’s judges including the CEO of Deloitte Digital – the online arm of accounting giant Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.
Criteria for the award include innovative content, improved processes and accessibility to information, and measurable results.
Kells won the award for its cutting-edge use of computer software to give its staff access to a “Know How Centre”, whether they are in the firm’s Sydney CBD office or one of its three Illawarra offices.
Kells Chairman of Partners Roger Downs said the “client-centric commitment of the Kells IT team led them to develop a networked and searchable solution for provision of legal resources in an efficient and cost-effective way”.
“We pride ourselves on delivering premium legal services based on the best people supported by the best technology and the LawTech Award is testament to this,” Mr Downs said.
